Manila Pavilion opens Alcuaz rooms

The Manila Pavilion Hotel announced the opening of the new Alcuaz function rooms in November to cater to weddings, corporate meetings, social, soireés and other social events.
 
The Alcuaz function rooms are located at the third floor of Manila Pavilion Hotel. They can accommodate up to 300 people and can be arranged in a variety of ways to suit a guest’s needs, the hotel said.

Property developer Ayala Land Inc. has exited its plan to acquire Puerto Azul seaside estate in Cavite from Boulevard Holdings Inc. (BHI), a resort developer led by businessman Jose Panlilio. BHI said it received letters from Ayala Land cancelling with finality its request for reconsideration regarding the planned ALI-BHI Puerto Azul memorandum of agreement dated 13th March 2014.

Manila Bay Resorts to hire 8,000 workers

The group of Japanese billionaire Kazuo Okada is preparing to hire about 8,000 workers to staff the initial phase of its integrated casino project in Entertainment City along Manila Bay in Parañaque City, which is scheduled to open in late 2015.
 
Officials of Okada-led Tiger Resort Leisure and Entertainment Inc., which will operate the US$2-billion Manila Bay Resorts, said the recruitment drive is aimed at luring experienced hotel, entertainment and casino workers from the Philippines and overseas.

Integrated resort and gaming developer Travellers International Hotel Group expects to open two new luxury hotels—355-room Hilton and 390-room Sheraton—at Resorts World Manila (RWM) in Newport City by the fourth quarter of 2017.
 
Westin is also expected to re-enter the Philippine hotel market by 2018 with the opening of a 600-room hotel at Travellers’ second integrated resort complex Bayshore City Resorts World. Also at the Bayshore project, another upcoming hotel brand is luxury Japanese hotel operator Okura.

PAL flying to New York in March 2015

Philippine Airlines (PAL) will start flying to New York City on 15th March 2015, according to a report by ABS-CBN. PAL Chairman and CEO Lucio C. Tan said the auspicious start of regular flights to New York will coincide with PAL's 74th founding anniversary.  PAL resumes its flights to the East Coast, around 18 years after it pulled out of the region in 1997.
 
The New York flight, which will take approximately 16.5 total flying hours, will be PAL's longest route.

AirAsia returns to Clark

AirAsia has revived flights from the Clark International Airport to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
 
The carrier said in a statement the new service, using the Malaysian carrier’s flagship AirAsia Berhad, would fly four times a week between Clark and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
