B Hotel Alabang

A new 152-room hotel has opened in Alabang, Muntinlupa City to meet the needs and specifications of the business traveller. B Hotel is the latest addition to Bellevue Hotels and Resorts that aims to provide business executives with a perfect deal.
The three-star hotel is situated near industrial parks, information technology and business process outsourcing zones as well as various leisure spots. "B Hotel is a 'no-frills' type of establishment. We offer affordable rates for the business travellers who are conscious about travel costs. Although the rates are lower than those of other Bellevue Hotels, guests can still expect the usual warm friendly service we call the Bellevue Touch," said Mr. Patrick Chan, general manager of B Hotel.
B Hotel, which took PhP500 million to build, is a direct investment of the Chan family, which is on the lookout for other sites to expand the Bellevue brand.

Second World Pyrotechnics display olympics

Second World Pyrotechnics Display Olympics Millions of Filipinos and foreign tourists have witnessed the spectacular fireworks during the 2nd World Pyro Olympics that lit up the sky of the Esplanade area of the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City. The Philippines and nine competing countries – Australia (defending champion), China, Germany, Korea, Russia, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States – participated in the amazing displays of fireworks on the 5th to the 7th and 12th to 13th of January 2007.

The government issued Proclamation No. 2019, declaring Bagong Nayong Pilipino Entertainment City on reclaimed land of Manila Bay in Parañaque City as a tourism economic zone that would grant incentives to locators.

Japanese medical firm Shinagawa Lasik and Aesthetics Center (Philippines) has opened a facility in the Philippines to take advantage of the fast-growing market for medical tourism.

Grand Hyatt Hotel Bonifacio

Federal Land and Japanese firm Orix Corp. have formed a joint venture called Bonifacio Landmark Corp. that will build a US$300-million project in Bonifacio Global City to be managed by Grand Hyatt Hotels Worldwide, according to a report by Philippine Daily Inquirer. The construction of the hotel, Grand Hyatt, is now in full swing and is slated for completion in 2015.

Resorts World Bayshore

 

Alliance Global Group Inc. (AGI) and its partner Travellers International, which are behind the Resorts World complex, will develop a second tourism estate— the 31-hectare Resorts World Bayshore in the Entertainment City Manila.

 

Clark Sun Valley Golf Course

Korean firm Donggwang Clark Corp. is expected to complete by April 2012 its US$200-million tourism-related project, which includes the Clark Sun Valley Golf Course at Clark Freeport in Pampanga.  With the project, Donggwang is poised to become the new leader in tourism complex and golf course construction in the Philippines. The Korean company is building a 304-hectare tourism complex with residence villas, water theme park and various amenities. 

 

 

Tune Hotel Angeles

International budget hotel chain Tune Hotels has opened a 165-room branch along Don Juico Avenue in Angeles City, Pampanga. Mr. Mark Armsden, senior vice president for sales and marketing of Red Planet Hotels Ltd., said Tune Hotel would give its customers choices according to their actual needs.   A second Tune Hotel would also open in Cebu City while three more hotels would be completed in Makati, Pasig and Cagayan de Oro this year.

Manila, top city destination in Asia

Manila is the 10th most visited city destination in Asia, according to the new index of Global Destination Cities developed by Mastercard.  The study ranked London as the world’s top city destination, which is expected to receive 20.1 million inbound passengers in 2011, topping Paris' 18.1 million.  Bangkok is expected to welcome the third-highest number of visitors, followed by Singapore and Hong Kong.  Asia-Pacific cities account for eight of the top 20 global destinations.
