A new serviced hotel called Azalea Residences has opened in Baguio City. Located at the Leonard Wood Loop, Barangay (village) M. Roxas, Azalea Residences offers tourists who normally take trips in groups, full amenities of a serviced apartment, complete with living, dining, and kitchen facilities in all its rooms.
Its 99 suite rooms – 46 deluxe, 17 one-bedroom, 33 two-bedroom, and 3 three bedroom – offers a living area with sofa and flat screen cable-connected TV; toilet and bath with hot and cold water; dining table and chairs and crockery; kitchen appliances and utensils; coffee and tea-making facilities; queen-sized beds with imported bed linens; and balcony in choice rooms. All have Wi-Fi Internet connection.
Integrated tourism estate developer Travellers International Hotel Group Inc. will construct a much bigger and “grander” Resorts World complex at the Pagcor Entertainment City along Manila Bay by 2012, seeking to replicate the success of its pioneering complex in Newport City, according to a report by Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Mr. Kingson Sian, president of Travellers, which is a partnership between Alliance Global Group Inc. and Malaysia’s Genting group, said they would invest at least US$1.1 billion in what will be called Resorts World Bayshore in Pagcor Entertainment City, its next major project, which is three times bigger than Newport City in terms of land area.
Megaworld Corp. is developing a residential community called Boracay Newcoast at the world famous resort island of Boracay. The project on the island’s eastern shore is master-planned to become the island’s first tourism-oriented community. It will gather four international hotels and one local hotel and offer more than 1,500 hotel suites to beef up Boracay’s capability to serve a growing number of travellers. Also in the plan is Boracay Newcoast Village, the first exclusive subdivision to rise in Boracay.
Alliance Global Group Inc. (AGI) plans to add four more hotels at its Resorts World Manila in Pasay City over the next five years. The company said these will bring to seven the total number of hotels in the integrated entertainment complex that will have an aggregate room count of 2,800 and accommodate around 600,000 foreign and local visitors.
Radisson Hotels, a subsidiary of the Carlson Hotels group, will build a Park Inn Hotel in Davao City, in partnership with SM Hotels and Convention Corp. (SMHCC). The hotel will reportedly become the first Park Inn in the entire Philippines and Asia. The two companies expect the 204-room hotel to be completed in 2013 at a cost of PhP800 million.
Korean firm Resom Resort Co., Ltd. will develop a 230-hectare forest area for a future resort complex in Subic Bay. The company, which is said to be Korea’s largest time-share group, however, has abandoned its plan to develop the Puerto Azul project in Ternate, Cavite.
Belle Corp., the developer of Nob Hill project in Tagaytay City, said the project is on track for completion by mid-2012. Nob Hill is located on the 1,500-hectare Tagaytay Highlands mountain resort and residential complex.
Property firm Belle Corp. expects to open its Belle Grande Manila Bay project at the Entertainment City along Manila Bay by the first quarter of 2013. Company vice chairman Willy Ocier said the project would primarily target the foreign market, including Chinese players, which is the main source of revenues of gaming companies operating in Macau and Singapore.
Marco Polo Hotels is building a 313-room hotel in the Ortigas Centre, its first facility in Metro Manila and the third in the Philippines. Marco Polo general manager Hans R. Hauri said the new hotel will primarily target expatriates, since the hotel is located near the Asian Development Bank.
Alliance Global Group Inc. (AGI) and its partner Travellers International, which are behind the Resorts World complex, will develop a second tourism estate— the 31-hectare Resorts World Bayshore in the Entertainment City Manila.
