Alphaland Corp. is spending at least PhP16 billion until 2014 on various real estate projects, including the 34-hectare Bay City project to be located near SM Mall of Asia. Reports said the Bay City project, which will have a marina/yacht club, will cost at least PhP2.5 billion. Of the projected cost, around PhP1 billion will be for the breakwater and about PhP300 million for an old cruise ship that will be converted into a clubhouse.
Ascott Limited has signed contracts to manage two new serviced residences apartments in the Philippines. It will construct the 220-unit Ascott Bonifacio Global City Manila as its second Ascott-branded property in the Philippines, after the one in Makati. It will also manage the 215-unit Citadines Salcedo Makati as the first Citadines apartment-hotel in the country. Both properties are expected to open in 2014.
Italian luxury brand Versace has partnered with Century Properties to build a 53-storey residential condominium in Makati City. The 53-storey building called Milano Residences will test the Philippine market’s appetite for luxury residences amid a real estate industry currently dominated by middle income and low-cost homes.
Property developer Alphaland Corp. will spend as much as PhP1.2 billion to build new projects and expand existing ones this year. The company said its projects include Alphaland Balesin Country Club in Quezon, and a resort in Boracay in partnership with Akean Resorts Corp.
Robinsons Land Corp. will open a shopping mall in Palawan province in November, which will bring to 31 its total number of malls in the country. “Robinsons Land also plans to develop a residential subdivision and the Puerto Princesa branch of gohotels.ph,” the property firm said.
Century Properties, Inc. has started the construction of a US$100-million medical tourism facility in Makati City. “This is our small part, to start the medical tourism revolution in this country. The potential for health care is unimaginable because everybody needs health care,” company chairman Jose Antonio was quoted as saying.
The project called Centuria Medical Makati will rise at a 4,000-square-metre site in Century City, the company’s first mixed-use development project in Makati.
A futuristic undersea resort will be built in Palawan province, according to a report by Philippine Daily Inquirer. Dubbed as the Coral World Park, the multibillion-peso project will set the record as Asia’s first underwater resort development and the biggest undersea living in the world, once the project is completed by 2013.
The Farm at San Benito in Lipa City, Batangas has been recognised as one of the region’s finest destination for its detox retreats and living foods cuisine by the Wall Street Journal. It described the Farm as pioneer in raw and vegan cuisine in Asia and cited its organic plantation that produces much of its vegan food and spa ingredients.
